Thought about you last night. That time when we both took a drive. To the Sandstone Trail and after ale, we got in a fight. Something that you ignored for years, but you know that it never seemed right. Dismissed it still. No roving eye. As it shrunk in size. Waving your arms in the air. When you realised you had to fess up. Firemen were scraping up what was left of us. Turning off Radio 1. The incessant drawl hurting my teeth. The central reservation was where our hearts would meet. Chorus Guess I loved you in my own way. (Safety ‘la) But this incandescent pathway is just A to B. (Safety wrong) And if it wasn’t for this artery you’d be clogged here. So be thankful. (And be grateful)

Johanna 03:07
Johanna, oh Johanna. Playing the Bluegrass fields. But your songs were too surreal to take home. Sung them with such passion. More than I could convey. But you concreted a place in my heart. Chorus To my back is the city. But right in front, it’s summer everywhere. Circumstance was the pity. Cause once I leave, I won’t see you again. Our eyes only met once, during the whole show. But it was enough to know I was in love. Johanna, oh Johanna. Playing the Bluegrass fields. But your songs were too surreal to take home.

Remember when I saw you? Stepping off the train on time. Everyone astounded. Hadn’t happened in a while. On our way to Sankeys, but Davie left the drugs at home. Sleeping in the station. Covered in piss and cold. Then we thought that we’d hitch our way back, but it’s empty on Christmas Eve. Ended up with some guys in a squat and we did one before they woke up. Once again, I’m on time and you’re late and I’m stranded here at Bank Quay. Make my own way up to Billinge Hill. Shall I bus it or use my feet? Why do I even like you? What possessed me to come? Maybe it was boredom? Just escaping from me mum?

It’s always sunny on the cesspit coast. It’s never true, but you know that’s what they’ll say. Me, I look like a ghost, I need colour. And the girls with the orange faces say... Ooh, they’ll say, “Yes.” Ooh, they’ll always say, “Yes”. Chorus Leave me alone. I’ve got two hands of my own. And I’m not up to the challenge today. Once my seed was sown, now my disease is unknown. And the girls from Del Monte, they agree. Don’t you know there are moral standards? Give a tip; wipe the smudges off my face.

about

The word is spreading around West Coast Sick Line, After a handful of gigs in the Manchester area the exposure is growing and rightful recognition of the band is spreading.

There were some songs left over from the Billinge Hill Sessions and Dusty wanted to put them out as a maxi-single and include the stand out track from the album "Wasp In The Car". Space Museum got hold of one of them and decided to add a few bits as a remix. We thought that the long standing classic "Girls from Del Monte" needed to be put out there to the wider world, and Dusty added the instrumental "O Jenasse" at the last minute. In the end we had an EP rather than a maxi-single, and we think it's pretty damn good.

So there we have it six tracks from West Coast Sick Line to round off the year nicely. Enjoy.
